OUR APPELLATIONS
Saint-Véran
» SAINT-VERAN "Vieilles Vignes"

The SAINT-VERAN appellation was established by the decree of 6th January 1971. The exclusive grape variety is CHARDONNAY, planted on chalky clay soils.

This parcel was planted in 1983. Located in the village of Chasselas, the vineyard is 300 meters above sea level. This is the most stony parcel of our Domaine. This plateau is exposed to the sun all day long, which produces rich, delicate fine wines.

SAINT-VERAN "Vieilles Vignes" is vinified in oak barrels. About 4.000 bottles a year are produced. The oak comes from the Troncais Forest in central France.

Vinification of about five months in these barrels is enough to give it vanilla, hazelnut and grilled almond aromas.
You can keep this wine for around 5 years.

SAINT-VERAN should be served at 11° - 13°.
It marries well with shellfish and simply-cooked fish, snails, frogs’ legs and andouillette sausages, white meat and poultry with cream.

» SAINT-VERAN "Cuvée Tradition"

The Cuvée Tradition is made from a selection of the best grape juice produced from the 30 - 40 year-old vines which were planted in the villages of Chasselas and Solutré-Pouilly. Traditional vinification, in stainless steel tanks, preserves the characteristics of the grape variety and the very stony terroir.

SAINT-VERAN should be served at 11° - 13 °.
It goes particularly well with oysters, fish and simply prepared seafood, snails, frogs legs, ‘andouillette’ sausage, as well as cheese and cheese dishes, such as raclette, tartiflette and fondue.

» SAINT-VERAN "La Grande Bruyère"

This vineyard was planted near the village of Davayé in 1973 by Renée and Roger LUQUET.
At a height of 245 m and with a clay and limestone soil, the Saint-Véran from this terroir is softer than our "Cuvée Tradition".
Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats, as we are always keen to ensure that the individual characteristics of each of our various terroirs shine through. This wine can be enjoyed immediately after bottling, or alternatively it keeps well for up to 4 years.
Year after year, we rediscover the same exotic, fruity aromas…
